Not just a book. This is the foundation of the trilogy.
Most self-help books skip over the messy middle, the grief, doubt, and disorientation that come with real change.
This book goes there.
How I Unlearned My Crap is a raw, unfiltered story that shows transformation isn’t a straight line, it’s a spiral of breakdowns and breakthroughs.
“Healing doesn’t happen in a straight line. It happens in the mess of real life.”
This book was born out of loss, loss of identity, illusions, and the stories I had been told about who I "should" or was "expected" to be.
By facing grief head-on, I discovered a deeper freedom than I ever thought possible.
My hope is that readers will see themselves in this journey and find hope for their own reinvention.
By unlearning my crap, I learned that the breakdown was the breakthrough.”
We don’t grow by pretending we’re fine, we grow by being real.
How I Unlearned My Crap pulls back the curtain on what it actually takes to step into authenticity.
Vulnerability isn’t weakness. It’s courage in action, and it’s the doorway to connection.
“My story is not just mine. It’s a mirror for anyone brave enough to step into their own truth.”
When life shatters, so does the illusion of control. My breakdown forced me to face grief, disillusionment, and the messy middle where most people give up. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to wait for collapse to create change.
By being proactive, by unlearning the crap before it breaks you, you can step into freedom sooner. This book shows both sides, the pain of waiting too long, and the possibility of choosing breakthrough before the breakdown.
How I Unlearned My Crap is not just my story, it’s a mirror for yours.
You’ll see what happens when we ignore the signs, but also how powerful it is when we decide to level up before the fall.
This isn’t a polished “how-to”. It’s a real-life story of grief, reinvention, and breakthrough. Inside, you’ll find both comfort and challenge, truth and transformation:
Living Inside the Messy Middle → How to embrace the in-between spaces where healing actually happens.
Grief as a Teacher → Turning loss, pain, and endings into doorways for new beginnings.
The Cost of Illusions → Recognizing the hidden scripts and false identities that keep us stuck.
The Courage of Vulnerability → Why showing up raw and real is the foundation for authentic growth.
Reinvention from the Inside Out → How to reclaim your voice, rebuild your truth, and create life beyond the stories you were given.
Every chapter is designed to be a mirror. My journey may not look exactly like yours but the truths inside will help you recognize your own path to freedom, power, and self-mastery.
If you are struggling with past experiences or inner conflict then you need to read this book! If you feel like you’re not good enough or you’re not worth it, you need to read this book! If you are not able to forgive or forget past experiences or people you need to read this book! I struggle with all three of the above circumstances and I can’t believe how much Kathy’s book has helped me to understand what the internal conflict is all about and how I might be able to restore my energy and emotions to it’s correct stance. Take a chance on yourself and read this book. You will be amazed how it will change your life. ♥️💕🙏
WOW!!!! Kathy Baldwin taps into our emotions and belief systems without sugar coating anything! She explains perfectly all of this information and even gives actionable steps and exercises as well within this book to help you in various areas of your life! I learned how much disfunction and lies I was internally believing about myself, and ways to work on these areas! Kathy explains the brain like no other and backs up what she says with scientific proof! I was convicted and resonated with more in this book than I care to admit. This is definitely a character building book you must read for yourself! Incredible book with a profound message! Highly recommend!!!
Boy, I had no idea how much crap I needed to unlearn. This book is a must-read with actionable takeaways as wells as powerful insights that really make you think. I had so many a-ha moments but more importantly, it made me reflect on areas that need focus both personally and professionally. I would give it 6 stars if I could!
This is the raw, vulnerable story. Unlearn the Crap & Level Up gives you the framework. The Unlearned Life gives you the system.
But this book takes you inside the messy middle, the lived journey of grief, loss, and rebuilding. It’s proof that the framework and system aren’t just theory; they’re tested in real life.
It’s both. You’ll walk through my personal experiences, but woven throughout are lessons that every reader can apply. Think of it as a mirror: while it’s my story, you’ll see your own challenges, patterns, and breakthroughs reflected back at you.
Yes. In fact, that’s one of the most powerful times to read it. The book doesn’t sugarcoat grief or offer quick fixes, it shows how to live inside it, find meaning, and eventually rise into reinvention. Many readers say it’s like having a companion through the hardest parts of healing.
It will help you:
Recognize illusions and patterns that keep you stuck.
Normalize the “messy middle” of change so you stop feeling like you’re failing.
Reframe grief and struggle as catalysts for reinvention.
Gain courage to tell your truth and rebuild life on your own terms.
You don’t have to carry the illusions, the grief, or the hidden scripts any longer.
How I Unlearned My Crap is my personal story of breakdown and breakthrough but it’s also a mirror for anyone ready to face their truth.
This is Book Two of the Unlearn the Crap Trilogy, the Journey that proves transformation is possible.
If you’ve ever felt lost, broken, or ready to reinvent your life, this book will walk with you through the messy middle and help you find your own breakthrough.
